Mission

We are a part of the New Testament Church; therefore, we must be concerned about Missions both local and foreign.  It is imperative that we commit ourselves to fulfilling the Great Commission given unto us by our Lord prior to His Ascension; and Jesus came and spake unto them, saying; All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.  Amen.  Matthew 28:18-20

What We Believe

The Scripture Inspired

We believe that both the Old and New Testament are verbally inspired by God and are inerrant in the original writings.  The Bible being the revealed Word of God is the ground and foundation from which all claims of truth shall be substantiated.

Divine Creation

We believe the Triune God Created the Universe apart from pre-existing materials and without any evolutionary process.  We believe in the historicity of the first eleven chapters of Genesis.

Satan

We believe that Satan was originally created a perfect being.  He rebelled against God.  As a result, he became depraved, the devil and adversary of God and His people, the leader of a host of angels who fell with him.  Satan has been judged and defeated at the cross and awaits his ultimate doom at the Second Advent of Jesus Christ.

The Holy Trinity

God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit; co-existent, eternal, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent. We serve One God in Three Persons.

Justification

Through the fall we all became "dead in trespasses and sins", through Christ we are "made alive", "born again" and justified by faith through the atonement, of Jesus Christ, who is the only way to Salvation.

Sanctification

Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God.  Is is an on-going work.  (Romans 12:2; I Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 13:12).  The scriptures teach a life of "holiness without which no man shall see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14).  By the power of the Holy Ghost we are able to obey the command: "be ye holy for I am holy". (I Peter 1:15-16)

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

There is for every believer whose heart has been cleansed, an endowment of "Power from on High" The Pentecostal baptism with the Holy Spirit, accompanied with speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gave utterance, according to (Acts 2:1-4;10:44-48; 19:1-5; Acts 1:8).

Spiritual Gifts

If we abide in Him, and "follow on to know the Lord", it is possible to have the "signs" that are promised to fellow believers in Mark 16:17-20 and the "spiritual gifts" spoken of in I Corinthians 12.  "For the perfecting of the Saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12)

Healing in the Atonement

"Jesus himself took our infirmities and bare our sickness" Matthew 8:17 and "with his stripes we are healed".  Isaiah 53:5.  It is our blessed privilege to lay hands on the sick" and to "anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord and the Prayer of faith shall save the sick". (Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16).

The Pre-Millennial Return of the Lord

The rapture of the prepared and waiting saints, the great tribulation, the return of our Lord with His saints and the holy angels in power and great glory to reign on earth a thousand years. (I Thessalonians 4:14-17; Matthew 25-31: Acts 1:11; Revelation 20-4; Jude 14:15)

The Resurrection

The resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord and the bodily resurrection of the just (before the thousand years). (Acts 2:22-24: I Corinthians 15:4-8: Romans 8:34: Daniel 12:2; John 5:25-29: Revelation 20:4-5)

Heaven and Hell

The everlasting blessedness and reward of the righteous and the everlasting punishment of the wicked.  (Matthew 25-46: Revelation 21:8; Luke 16:19-25).

Church History

On Friday, September 25, 1998, the vision began to be manifested, as Dea. and Evangelist Minter along with others: Sis. Barbara A. Turner, Sis. Alunda Marks-Quaye, Bro. Stanley R. Tigner, met to organize The Christian Jubilee Full Word Baptist Church; Bro. Robert Marks, Jr. and Sis. April D. Tigner later joined this exciting endeavor.

The Lord blessed our leap of faith and on Sunday, October 25,1998 our first service was held at McNair Sr. High School, where Dr. Gloria Hardeman was Principal.  The Lord moved upon us and blessed both spiritually and financially.  On that day, 4 people joined the Church; Bro. Robert L. Marks, Sis. Alunda Marks, Shuntavia Richardson and Sis. Barbara A.Turner.  To God Be the Glory!

Our New Pastor was officially installed by Pastor Willie George Tigner, Sr. and several other male and female clergy on July 18, 1999.  Many family members, friends and approximately 25 preachers joined in this celebration with prayers, songs, worship and a fellowship dinner.  This service was held at Floyd Chapel Baptist Church in Stockbridge, Georgia where Rev. Edward Charles Cochran is Senior Pastor.

In August 2000, the Lord allowed us to move to 3858 Glenwood Rd. Decatur, GA 30032 with only a hand full of members who were full of faith in God.  Since that time the Lord has continually added several more members to this growing congregation, and  several Ministries have been established:

  • Administrative Services

  • Christian Education

  • Couples

  • Deacon

  • Health & Wellness

  • Hospitality

  • Media

  • Men's

  • Music/Dance & Drama

  • Missions

  • Transportation

  • Women's

  • Youth

From 2012-2017  the Lord called us to make a major move from the Glenwood location and embark on a new phase of our faith journey.  For over 5 years, we shared a building with Greater Fellowship (Pastor Stanley Smith) where we held our Sunday services @ 3:00 p.m. Throughout that time we went through many transitions, however, God continued to remain faithful to us. We are very grateful to Pastor Smith and the Greater Fellowship Church Family for their love and support of our Ministry during that time of transition.

In July 2017, the Lord blessed us with our own church building located at 1522 Thomas Rd, Decatur, Ga. 30032.  Right in the same Belvedere Community where we've served since 1998!

We are thankful to the Lord for His many blessings as he continues to lead us forward.  Souls are still being saved, members are still growing and God is still be glorified.

We thank God for every member of this great Church Family,  for we have come this far by Faith leaning on Lord, trusting in His Holy Word.  He has never failed us yet, and He never will.  Therefore, we celebrate His faithfulness toward us.  He is worthy to be praised!
